The straw that killed the Romney campaign
There were many straws that one could pick to establish the downfall of a man who wanted the American people to send him to the white house. You could say that it was the flip flops that he went through from hours to hours, the positions he took as though he was debating himself, from abortion to repelling Obamacare, auto bailout, and tax cut for millionaires, while big bird was a target “I will stop the subsidies to CBS, I love big bird, I love you too”, or his lack of specifics on which tax loopholes he will close, since he himself pay less taxes (13%) and benefit from the loophole. You could say it’s his refusal to release his tax returns, you could say it’s his 47% comments, you could say it was the Bain businessman idea, you could say that it’s his picking of Paul Ryan as his running mate, a guy whom his cut and drop budget was t0 disproportionately affect the very American people he wants to vote for him, while he gave a tax cut to the very rich.
If you chose any of the above straws, you could be right, but for me it was not anyone of the above. Believe it or not, the straw that really breaks the Romney campaign was Fox news and the GOP. Why would I say this? Tell me when fox news was honest to Romney on his core principles, or even tell him the truth on the polls which everyone has been saying that they are all going Obama's way. Instead Fox news stick to building conspiracy and hoping that the president will be viewed as an evil Kenya, Muslim Socialist, anti-American Christian, who had a special plan to let four great American to die in Benghazi. I am awaiting the day Fox News will tell me how sending our brothers and sisters, husband and wives, mothers and father to die for their war justified. They spent their time looking for a scandal to remove this president from office. There is a saying that “if some beat them join them”. Thanks to Todd Akin and his GOP friends who put out their true believes before the voters, which allow the voters to take a second look at Romney and his argument why he wants to be president along with his GOP congressional friends.
Maybe I would have not voted for Newt Gingrich, but I applaud him for calling it as he saw it during the GOP primaries. Romney was playing a game he could win at home because of his fan base, but he forgets that he will have to defend that record in the away game when the whole world is watching and he had Fox News to thank for his lost.
