These days every politician is an expert on deficit reduction and that usually happen when a democratic president runs the White House. What you will never see are these politicians doing anything right to reaching a more comprehensive solution to the real problems. They are either suggesting partial solutions or alienating solutions.
Who among you still believe that a politician, who goes to Washington on a campaign to solve a problem, would really want to solve the problem that got him or her elected? When he or she needs to use that same problem for his or her reelection campaign? I mean, what would you rather want him or her do if they actually solve the problem? Create a new one? For your information, holding an office in Washington is no longer about the people who elected a Politian, is now all about the politician.
I don’t have a masters or PhD in economics or government, but I can say even if we go back and cut everything from Medicare, social security, education, etc. and keep taxes the way they are, we will not solve the deficit crises. In fact, if we do what I just mention we will be far worse than where we are right now. And that will bring use to the brink of becoming a third world nation.
Given the circumstances, if I were asked to solve the problem of deficits, I will start by not cutting social programs; instead, I will bring all the troops home, and save us trillions of dollars from both wars. I will cut aid to countries whose dictators have not done anything to improve the lives of their citizens and that will also save us about a trillion dollars combining the billions, which are sent to countries like Pakistan. I will try to regulate outsourcing while promoting manufacturing (Made in USA), which will not only create jobs, but improve the economy and GDP, and a tax increase for the rich.
The argument that raising tax on the rich is bad for the economy is not fact base, and neither have they created the many jobs one would expect while they are under low taxes. The rich rather save their money to create more wealth than spent it like an average person will do. In fact poor people spent per their earning than a rich person.
To also make sure a resolution that would actually solve the problem in this country are reach, I ask the government to put a list of all the programs that it is currently running in an online or in print for the citizens and residents to vote on what programs they want cut and what they want kept any programs that gets 60% votes for cut should be cut. I mean, I am tired of politicians saying that “the American people said” and actually letting the American people to really say what they want or not want.
